Matt Skinner selects Jansz Tasmania in his TOP100 wines to drink in 2009
11 November 2008
"The legendary soft-shell crab at Pacific Seafood BBQ House Restaurant (210 Toorak Road, South Yarra, Melbourne Australia) arrives lightly coated in a dry batter and tossed through a mixture of garlic, sea salt and fresh chillies. It's a tough ask for most wine, although good sparkling is an obvious choice, and the Pipers River region in Tasmania is home to some of Australia's best. Of those, the much loved Jansz packs a bright and clean nose of green apple, citrus, bread, and honey, while in your mouth great flavour and masses of bright tiny bubbles are all you need to navigate even the trickiest of tricky textures."
Matt Skinner, The Juice 2009 (Aus), November 2008
