 | Jansz Premium Vintage Rose 2008One block of Pinot Noir from the Jansz Vineyard J25, was hand tended and kept separate throughout the year. Very gentle handling during harvest and in the winery was followed by fermentation in old French oak developing complexity and sophistication; tirage and secondary fermentation in bottle followed. After more than three years aging on yeast lees the wine was disgorged and liquered, again using 100% Tasmanian Pinot Noir. The colour is reminiscent of pale pink rose petals and Argyle pink diamonds. An intense lifted nose with a riot of gorgeous aromas, led by Turkish Delights, rosewater and strawberries. The natural truffle notes of Pipers River Pinot Noir shine through and add complexity and savouriness to the nose. The palate is a delight of luscious layers. The pure Pinot truffles and creaminess from 40 months of ageing on lees give weight and length to the palate and support the vibrant bright rose and strawberry fruit. Barrel fermentation has given the wine a touch of fine tannin and coupled with the elegant palate line, the wine has a mouth-watering lingering finish.
